Sally R. Schuppe

Sally R.Schuppe, 81, of Fond du Lac, died on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Sage Meadows of Fond du Lac with family by her side. She was born March 8, 1940 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Forest and Demaris (Hopper) Ristau. Sally graduated from St. Mary’s Springs High School in 1958. On July 25, 1959 she married Richard P. Schuppe at St. Louis Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Richard was the love of her life. They were married young and celebrated 59 years of marriage. Sally enjoyed camping, traveling, going to the casino, playing bingo, and especially time with family and friends. She loved to cheer on the Packers and Brewers.

Sally co-owned Our Place tavern in Knowles with her husband. She started out at 16 working for Crouch Brothers as a cashier and later worked for the old Piggly Wiggly, Wells Manufacturing, and National Exchange Bank.  

She is survived by three children, Laurie Schuppe, Kim (Brian) O’Leary, and Rick (Shannon) Schuppe; five grandchildren, Paul Schuppe, Emily O’Leary, Derek O’Leary, Mason Schuppe, and Justin Smith; brother, Wayne (Sophie) Ristau; sister-in-law, Linda Schuppe; special cousin, Pastor Edward “Pat” (Joyce) Schuppe; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Demaris; husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Terry Schuppe; grandparents; and aunts and uncles.

Private services are being held. Entombment will be held in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.

The family extends a special thank you for the care team at Sage Meadows and Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion given to Sally and her family.

Memorials can be directed in Sally’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.
