Samuel Shaw Jr.

Samuel Shaw Jr., 90, of Fond
du Lac, died on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Hospice Home of Hope.

 

He was born on March 16,
1924, in Fond du Lac, the son of Samuel and Loretta Leet Shaw Sr. On December
12, 1954, he married Iona M. Starks, at Division Street Church. 

 

Sam retired from the Soo-Line
Railroad.  He was a World War II Veteran,
serving 1945-1946.  He was a member of
Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, VFW Post 1904, Eagles Aerie #270, Vintage
Auto Club and Romeos.  He enjoyed taking
his 1931 Dodge to car shows at Lakeside Park and spending time with family and
friends.  Sam enjoyed going to Boda’s for
breakfast every morning with his friends.

 

He is survived by his wife,
Iona; his children: Cheryl (Art) Abitz, Samuel (Vickie) Shaw, Jeffrey (Sharon)
Shaw, Gary (Judy) Shaw and special daughter-in-law Charllyce (Chuckie) DeWitt;
one sister Malita Patchett, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by
his parents, his son Wayne, his granddaughter Lisa and his sister Charmaine
LaShay.

 

We would like to extend a
special “Thank you” to grandsons, Shad Abitz, Steven Shaw and Christopher Shaw
for all their care and extra help and “Chuckie” for special meals brought for
him and especially to Hospice Home of Hope for their loving care.

 

VISITATION: Friends may call
on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 3,
2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31
East Division Street, Fond du Lac.

 

FUNERAL: Funeral services
will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral
Chapel & Crematory, with Rev. Joel Deaner-Rogers officiating.  Entombment to follow at Shrine of Rest
Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park. 
Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside
services.
