Shane M. Jahns

Shane Michael Jahns, beloved father, son, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2022, at the age of 48. His kind heart always found him putting others first; never hesitating to help them out.

Shane was born in Fond du Lac, WI on November 29, 1973, to Warren and Linda (Leppin) Jahns. He was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on December 30, 1973 and had his First Communion at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on May 2, 1982.

Shane was a 1992 graduate of Goodrich in Fond du Lac and then attended UW-Oshkosh from 1992-1994. In 1999 he earned an Associate Degree in accounting from Moraine Park Technical College. Over the past 23 years he worked as an accountant for Wallschlaeger Associates, Schenck, Mayville Engineering, and was currently a senior consultant at Huberty CPAs.

Shane treasured every moment spent with his children, Taylor and Gavin, playing basketball, fishing, catching Gavin’s pitches, and watching them play sports. Just having fun with the kids, as Taylor would say. He loved spending time outdoors, enjoying the company of his dog Lily, camping, the week at the lake, sitting around the fire pit almost every night from late spring to fall, and grilling, teaching his children cooking and grilling. He often invited family and friends over to enjoy the delicious meal he had grilled. Shane was an avid golfer, bowler, and Tarheels basketball fan, and enjoyed attending and watching the Badgers, Brewers, Packers and Bucks teams with his father. He was dedicated to his indoor plants and outdoor flowers; spending many hours trimming, transplanting, and caring for them. His passion for baseball led him to serving 18 years as a volunteer assistant baseball coach for Fond du Lac High School [formerly Goodrich] before coaching his son Gavin’s baseball team for many years. He enjoyed writing poems for weddings and his mother. Shane always had a good story to tell and a smile to go with it.

Shane is survived by his beloved children: Taylor Jahns and Gavin Jahns; his loving parents, Warren and Linda (Leppin) Jahns; his sisters: Shannon (Aaron) Chase, and Shawna (Joshua) Smith; nieces and nephews: Cali, Cameron, and Chloe Chase, and Colton and Ava Smith. Shane will be remembered and missed by loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Orlo and Marie Jahns, and Erich and Myrtle Leppin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be set up.
