Sharon A. Donovan

Sharon A. Donovan, 65, died comfortably at her home June 24, 2013 surrounded by the loving care of Residential Coordinator Melissa Huebschman & staff from the Prairie Fox Group Home and the Agnesian Hospice Hope team. She was born March 16, 1948 in Fond du Lac to James & Germaine Donovan who preceded her in death.

Blessed by the Heavenly Father with pure innocence in spite of numerous physical and mental challenges, Sharon attended Jefferson School and worked at Brooke Industries from 1967 to 1990. She then attended the ARC Opportunity Center for several years before moving to the Poplar Street Group Home.

With the help of the many dedicated & caring staff at both Poplar Street and Prairie Fox Group Homes, Sharon enjoyed relaxing at home watching “Wheel of Fortune” and was a frequent letter writer to her siblings. She enjoyed weekly trips out of the house to shop and enjoy her favorite dinner of a fish sandwich, french fries and ice cream. She developed a fondness for painting bird houses and similar items.

She took great pride in keeping her room organized and enjoyed helping with jobs around the group home. She cherished visits from her siblings and nieces & nephews and enjoyed her collection of stuffed animal friends and plants.

Sharon is survived by a sister, Kay Becker, of Chandler, Arizona and her son MacGarret (Leslie) Becker of Elk Grove, California and their daughter Macy and baby Becker due later this fall, a brother, Brian (Tricia) Donovan of Grand Rapids, Michigan and their children Patrick, John, Meghan and Molly Donovan.
