Sister Lorraine Welker, SSSF

Sister Lorraine Welker, SSSF, “Sister Bertello”, 81, passed away Sunday Aug. 18, 2013 at St. Joseph Convent, Campbellsport. She was born Sept. 1, 1931 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Bert Joseph and Lucille (nee Lisner) Welker. Sister joined the School Sisters of St. Francis on June 13, 1949 and professed her vows on June 21, 1951. Sister Lorraine served her community as a teacher at various community missions. Sister Lorraine is survived by her sister Grace Chambers, her niece and nephews, and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 64 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday Aug. 20th at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in Sisters Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation and wake service will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday Aug. 20th at St. Joseph Convent.
