Stephen J. Bostwick, Sr.

Stephen J. Bostwick Sr, age 71, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on August 21, 1950, in Fond du Lac, the son of Ralph and Audre (Pose) Bostwick. Steve was a 1969 graduate of Goodrich High School. Steve served in the United States Navy from October 27, 1980, until October 26, 1984, where he was an Electrician Mate 2nd Class. He was stationed on the USS America CV-66 which took him all over the world including the Indian Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, and also went on a safari in Kenya. Steve received the Navy Expeditionary Medal twice, Letter of Commendation, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon twice. On July 7, 1992, Steve married Carol Sabel in Fond du Lac.

Using his knowledge from the Navy, Steve spent his life as a journeyman constructional electrician retiring from Quad/Graphics. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270 since age 18. He enjoyed playing cards with friends, especially sheepshead and cribbage. Steve was an avid hunter, he particularly enjoyed small game and deer hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; one son, Anthony John (Melissa) Bostwick; two sisters, Nanci (Thomas) McGray, and Laura (Bill) Meeks; Steve is also survived by the mother of his sons, Sundy (Langolf) Luft; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stephen Bostwick Jr; sister, Lynda and John Gitter; brother, Michael and Sharon Bostwick; infant brother, Christopher.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at the church at 12:00 noon. Cremation will follow the service. Military graveside honors will take place at the church following Mass.

A celebration of life will be at Frenchies, one of Steve’s favorite gathering spots, following mass from 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM.

The family would like to give a special thanks for St. Agnes ICU nursing team and Dr. Maso who gave great care and compassion to Steve and the family through the difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the American Legion in Steve’s name or the family will send all donations to fallen veterans in Steve’s honor.
