Steven D. Dhein
Steven D. Dhein, age 74, of Chilton passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Willowdale Health and Rehab Center in New Holstein. He was born September 21, 1944 in Appleton, son of the late Donald John & Marie Louise (Mueller) Dhein.
He attended Chilton Public Grade School and graduated from Chilton High School, class of 1963. He then attended Green Bay Technical School where he earned his automotive certification. He worked at Duchow Car Dealership in Potter and the Nicolet Car Repair and Sales in Chilton. Later, Steven began working at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein for 30 years until his retirement.
For a large portion of his working career, Steven also farmed on his family homestead outside of Chilton until his marriage to Suzanne Florence Franz. The couple was married on July 11, 1975 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Manitowoc and together they raised their two wonderful and amazing children, Jennifer and Jonathan; both of whom Steven was extremely proud and counted their lives in his as one of his greatest accomplishments in life.
Steven was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Sheboygan and Milwaukee Post Polio Support Group and the Calumet County CB Radio Club.
Steven cherished the time he spent on the family farm. It gave him the gift and understanding of the value of hard work and a particular useful stubbornness which was wholly necessary on the farm. He enjoyed collecting farm toys and farm related items and was never shy about striking up conversation about the history of, or his time spent on the farm.
Above all else, Steven loved to spend time with his family, especially when opportunities presented themselves to travel to special locations throughout the state. With a big heart and a helpful personality, Steven always did the best he could to make the lives of those around him better because he continually had the best intentions for everyone in mind. He felt his greatest accomplishment was raising the most wonderful, amazing kids.
Survivors include his children: Jennifer Dhein, Jonathan (Cortney) Dhein; brother-in-law: Stephen Franz; and a sister-in-law: Cynthia (David) Klein. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Suzanne; his in-laws; a brother; 2 nephews: Andy & Bryan; and a cousin.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2019.
