Steven L. Anderson

Steven L. Anderson, 69, of North Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Saint Agnes Hospital.

He was born to Lawrence and Lucille (Janquart) Anderson on November 12, 1951 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

He was a 1970 Graduate from Goodrich High School. He went on to serve as a Sergeant Senior Airman for the United States Air Force from 1973 to 1979, during which he was stationed in Texas, New York, California, Michigan, and overseas in Thailand.

On June 11, 1983, he married the love of his life, Donna Mae Kohlmann, at Presentation Parish in North Fond du Lac.

On July 7, 2007 he retired from Waupun Correctional Institute after 29 years of service as a Corrections Officer. He enjoyed his retirement at the cabin, golfing, spending time with his family, and taking his beloved pup, Layla for a swim at the lake. He loved a good Old Fashioned and was on a constant pursuit to find the best and squeakiest cheese curd. He and Donna were members of Presentation and Holy Family Parishes. Steve was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council #664, Fond du Lac, and Eagles Aerie #270.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Donna; daughter, Lauren (Andy) Kadrlik; son, Christopher Anderson; three sisters, Mary (Joe) Gilgenbach, Cheryl (Dave) Lebakken, and Rebecca (Craig) Hill; three brothers, Bill (Nancy) Schmidt, Dennis Schmidt, and Randy (Cindy) Schmidt. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Paul (Karla) Kohlmann, Wally (Leigh) Kohlmann, and Wayne Roberts; sisters-in-law, Mary Whitney and Rogene Schmidt; mother-in-law; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; stepfather; three infant siblings; two sisters, Gloria Dutkievic, and Kathleen Roberts; one brother, Kenneth Schmidt; father-in-law, Andrew Kohlmann; and one infant nephew.

Services: A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, WI 54937, from 10:00-12:00, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00 noon. Entombment will be in the Chapel of the Risen Christ, Calvary Mausoleum. Please note that face masks are required at the request of his family.
