Steven S. Leitner

Steven S. Leitner, age 62, of rural Reedsville, died on October 22, 2019 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.  He was born June 7, 1957, in Chilton, son of Jerome & Miranda (Wagner) Leitner.  He married the love of his life, Mary Heebink, on October 23, 1982, at Faith Evangelical Free Church, in Manitowoc.  

 

Steve attended Kiel High School for three year and then due to his family moving, completed his final year at Valders High School in 1975. Dairying was always his passion and that same year he started his career by purchasing seven calves.  As his herd grew he worked a short time at the Mirro Company and then worked a few years as a Dairy Herd Improvement field man. In 1980 Steve became a full time dairyman and thoroughly enjoyed every day of his successful career until his herd auction in April 2019..  

 

Steve was a man of faith and truly loved his Lord., He was a current and active member of Faith Alliance Church in Chilton.   Steve loved people and enjoyed making new friends.  He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and make others laugh and was a bit of jokester.  

 

Steve was loved and will be missed by his wife, Mary; his children, Anthony (Ashley) Leitner and Supriya Leitner (Aaron Van Steenburgh); sisters:  Linda (Gary) French, Judy (Jeff) Stuebs, Jean (Pat) Shimon, Jane Leitner ( Dana Larsen), Patti (Marty) Pasterski,  Cheryl (Martin) Robles,and Michele (Guy) Arnold; brothers:  Robert Leitner, Randall (Stacy) Leitner, Ronald (Dana) Leitner, Dale Leitner, Richard (Kim) Leitner, and Alan Leitner; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Joan) Heebink and Bart (Sarah) Heebink; and many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Kathleen Leitner.  

 

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Faith Alliance Church (468 N State St) in Chilton with Rev. James Jensen officiating.  A time for visitation will be from 4:00 PM  to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at church and again on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 9:30 AM – 10:45 AM at church until the time of service.  Burial will in the Zion Evergreen Cemetery, rural Reedsville.
