Terry L. Mayer

Terry L. Mayer, 73, of Appleton passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at ThedaCare in Neenah. Terry was born on August 18, 1948 in Watertown a son of the late Arnold and Jeanette Mayer (nee Johnson). He graduated from high school in Watertown, and enlisted in the U.S. Army. While Terry was stationed at Fort Hood in Texas, he served as Army Police.  Terry had a number of occupations during this career.  He worked as a Police Officer, Security Guard, then in the construction trade, and later retired from the Horicon School District as a member of the maintenance staff at the high school.  His hobbies included coin and stamp collecting.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his children, Shawn (Kim) Mayer, Robin Emerson, and Tammy Angle; grandchildren, Samantha Moreno, Eric (Madison) Moreno, Justin Mayer, Ayden Mayer, Cody Zietlow, Shelby Zieltow, William Boyrington, Tess (Mike) Jetzer, Brianna Mueller, and Mackenzie Gens; great-grandchildren, Emery and Oliver Moreno, Heaven and Jada Anderson, and Lucius Jetzer; siblings, Butch Mayer, Barbara (Wayne) Jago, Jerry (Gayle) Mayer, Kent (Helen) Mayer, and Steve (Marry) Mayer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Mayer; and his sister-in-law, Hazel Mayer.

The family extends their appreciation to ThedaCare in Neenah and Appleton for the comfort and care given to Terry during his illness.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, June 28 at 10:00 am at Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
