Thelma R. Stortzum

Thelma R. Stortzum, 91, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at her residence.

She was born on August 22, 1929, in Paris, IL, the daughter of Carl I. and Mae E. Mohler Calvin. On April 24, 1955, she married Theodore “Ted” Stortzum at Paris Bible Church, Paris, IL.  He preceded her in death on May 25, 1991.

Thelma was a resident of Auburndale, Florida for over 50 years.  She worked at Mayer Bootery and later at Winn Dixie Grocery in Auburndale.  She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Winter Haven, FL, where she taught Sunday School for many years.  Thelma always enjoyed going to and singing in church.

She is survived by her daughter, Trudy D. Brennand of Fond du Lac, her grandchildren: Michelle (Leonard) Russart of Fond du Lac, Julie (friend Eddie) Meier of Suamico, WI, and Annette (Wayne) Orvold of Fond du Lac; five great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn (friend Lucas Griese) Russart, Cassandra (Noah) Schmidt, Alexis Orvold, Zachary Koch and Madison Orvold; and her brother Donald (Marie) Calvin, IL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

At Thelma’s request, cremation will take place with a family gathering at a later date.

Thelma’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the 4th floor nursing staff at St. Agnes Hospital, especially Christine, Casey, Karen and Rachel; and also to her Hospice team Betty, Kristy and Nicole; for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Thelma and family.
