Theodore “Ted” K. Vande Berg

Theodore “Ted” K. Vande Berg, Sr., 84 of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born in Waupun on December 30, 1929 the son of Henry and Katie Vande Busch Vande Berg Sr. On April 29, 1950 he married Charmaine “Chere” A. Petermann at Grace Reformed Church, Fond du Lac. Charmaine preceded him in death on October 25, 2005. He was a graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School Class of 1948. Ted was employed with Infant Socks for 13 years, Gateway Transportation and later Holiday Automotive for 30 years. He was an active member of Grace Reformed Church serving as an elder, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, choir member and song leader for over 40 years. He was a proud member of the Service Guild for Oldsmobile/Mazda. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes, and caring for friends. Ted’s faith and family were very important to him.

SURVIVORS: Ted is survived by his two sons, Theodore (Sally) Vande Berg, Jr. of Tucson, AZ, Thomas (Joy) Vande Berg of Altoona, IA and one daughter, Catherine Ann (Dennis) Sprik of Las Vegas, NV, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. Ted is further survived by his sister Alma Walters, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and a sister-in-law Helen Vande Berg, Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Leah. infant sister Arvilla and one brother Henry Vande Berg, Jr.

VISITATION: Friends may call on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 4-7 PM at the Uecker-Witt Home and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Grace Reformed Church, 163 18th Street, Fond du Lac. Reverend’s Theodore Vande Berg, Jr., Thomas Vande Berg and Barry Vegter will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh.
