Thomas Hilbert

Thomas F. Hilbert Sr., age 68, passed away peacefully at his
home in Lakewood, WI Thursday, June 1,2017. 
Tom was born on July 16, 1948 in Fond du Lac, WI to Frank and Dorothy
Hilbert.  After graduating from Goodrich
High School in 1966, Tom went to work for Giddings & Lewis as a machine
operator.  He later became proprietor of
Arcade Lanes which he refurbished and opened as Alpine Bowl and operated for
many years.  Tom was a natural
entrepreneur who went on to own and operate three additional Fond du Lac businesses,
Total Shooting Systems (TSS), Sports Arts and Crafts and Converting Biophile
Labs  (CBL).  He retired with his wife Kathy to Lakewood,
WI.


Tom loved the outdoors. 
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. 
He was truly at home in the woods, whether on hunting trips out west
with his father and brothers or at the Bower’s Nest in Boulder Junction with
his extended hunting family.  His many hunting
and fishing trips to Canada, Colorado and throughout the Midwest added to the
stories of his life.

Tom was an active member of his parish at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Lakewood.  He was a member of
the Knights of Columbus Councils #664 and #4932 having served as a Warrant
Officer.


Tom’s true joy was spending time with family and
friends.  He enjoyed sharing stories with
his brothers, children, and grandchildren and many friends.  He was a lifelong Packer, Brewers, and NASCAR
fan.  He also enjoyed time bowling,
golfing, water skiing, snowmobiling, and riding ATV’s.


Tom is survived by his wife, Kathy (Huck) Hilbert, daughter
Sherri Walker (Dan), sons Tom Jr. (Julie), Jason and Jacob, sister Carol Shea,
brothers Gary (Mary Jo), Rick (Kel), Terry (Erika), Bill (Paula), grandchildren
Zach Schmid, Sam, Adam and Margaret Walker, Dalton Hilbert, and Victor Hilbert.
He is further survived by brothers-in-law, Jim (Barb) Huck, George (Karla)
Huck, Bill (Sharon) Huck, Dick (Anola) Huck and many friends, especially Don
and Erv Limberg, Sid Steinmatz, and all of the lake friends. . 


He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Dorothy
Hilbert and his former wife, Tama Hilbert (Timmons), father-in-law and
mother–in-law, George and Betty Huck.


Visitation: Visitation will be held on Tuesday
June 6, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Zacherl Funeral Home, Fond du Lac.
Visitation will also be held at Holy Family Parish, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond
du Lac, on Wednesday June 7, 2017 from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.


Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Wednesday, 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish Church. Cremation will
follow traditional services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation.
