Thomas Jay Meyers

Thomas Jay Meyers, 77, passed away peacefully on February 24th, 2022 at Banner Boswell Medical Center, Sun City, Arizona. He was born on March 8, 1944 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and Florence (Schwab) Meyers. On August 16th, 1969 he married the love of his life, Patricia Patten at St. Bridget’s Catholic church in Ettrick, Wisconsin.

Thomas was a 1962 graduate of Madison East High School. He then served in the US Army from 1963-1966 and graduated from UW-La Crosse in 1970.

Tom was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He taught biology at Campbellsport High School and later sold real estate. After retirement, he looked forward to spending the winter months in Sun City, Arizona. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, going to any sporting events, watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Wisconsin Badgers basketball and hockey team, joking around, and spending time with close family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, son Douglas (Tammy) Meyers, daughter Angela (Heath) Berg, granddaughters Alyssa and Taylor Meyers, Brieana and Samantha Berg, sisters Mary Jo (Dave) Kroneman, Katie (Irv) Paul, brother John (Vicky) Meyers, sisters-in-law Eva Gamoke and Sue Severson. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law Francis and Eunice Patten, brothers-in-law Dennis Gamoke and Terry Patten and sister-in-law Rosie Patten.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22nd, 2022 from 9:00 am until 11:15 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth St Way, Fond du Lac, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials or donations be made in Tom’s name to Holy Family Catholic Church.
