Thomas John Ronsman

Thomas John Ronsman was born to Henry and Rose (Runnoe) Ronsman on April 23, 1941 in Green Bay, Wisconsin and passed through death into eternal life sitting in his favorite chair at home on Monday, January 28, 2013.

Tom graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1958 and graduated from St. Norbert College in 1963.  He spent 13 years working with the Norbertine Community in Lima, Peru ministering to the poor.  Richard Mulroy, O. Praem.  was instrumental  in Tom’s spiritual development, as was the time spent with Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta.  It was there that Tom developed his appreciation for living a simple life.

Upon returning to Green Bay, Tom met Jane Warpinski, the love of his life.  They were married in Florida in 1981, and began their family life welcoming sons Ed and Dave who they love dearly.  In 1990, Tom took a leap of faith and answered an ad to teach at St. Mary’s Springs Academy in Fond du Lac.  Jane and the boys followed once they secured housing and a job for Jane.  Tom taught at “the Springs” Sept., 1990-June, 2009 and served as a role model for many young adults as he shared life lessons with his students through words and acts of service.

Tom had many hobbies and treasured pastimes including, hunting, fishing, card games, golfing, and reading.  He also volunteered his time with St. Vincent de Paul Society, Springs Key Club, and various community groups.   Time spent with family and friends was also very important, such as annual trips to Camp Susan with the Ronsman family, fishing trips with his brothers, hunting with buddy Jerry Erdman and endless hours playing cribbage and canasta.  Tom’s most enjoyable time was spent travelling with Jane.

Tom was preceded into eternal life by his parents, parents in-law, brother-in-law Jon, sisters-in-law Mary, Audrey, Patricia and Erma, Fr. Richard and other Norbertine brothers.   There are many here who wait to be reunited with Tom including Jane, sons Ed (Emily) and Dave (Meagan) and grandson Henry.  He is further survived by brothers and sisters Bob (Joan), Ron, Jerry (Denise), Diane (David), Pat (Sharon), and Kaye (Kathy); Jane’s brothers and sisters Mary (Alvin), Kathy (Michael), Mark (Sue), Joe (Sally), Jim (Diane), John (Becky), Margaret (David), Nancy (Chuck), Amy (Alan), Lora (Dick), Luke (Susan), Lucy (Ron), Cecelia (Paul), Anastasia (Charles); many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
