Thomas Michael Cox

Thomas “Thom” Michael Cox, 72, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family in Fond du Lac, WI after a courageous battle with cancer.

Thomas was born on August 29, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI to Lorraine E. Keuper and Henry R. Cox. He grew up in Greendale and attended St. Alphonsus Church and School. Thom attended St. Francis DeSales Seminary in Milwaukee, and then completed his bachelor’s degree in business at UW-Whitewater. Although he had a strong faith, the priesthood would not be his path, as he had met the love of his life Bridget Kane at the age of 18. He and Bridget were married at St. Alphonsus Church in Greendale, WI on September 16, 1972 and for the next 50 years would introduce his beloved wife to others as his “beautiful bride.”

Thom proudly served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1970-1978 during the Vietnam conflict. In 1978, the family moved to Fond du Lac, WI for a career opportunity and became active members in the St. Patrick Parish community. Thom held numerous sales positions at several local and Wisconsin-based businesses, finally retiring in 2016 from the Wisconsin Manufacturers Chamber of Commerce. In retirement he had the great pleasure to become a part-time school bus driver for handicapped children, a “job” that he loved which kept him active. Thom and Bridget later became members of the Sons of Zebedee Parish in Byron, WI where Thom proudly served as a council member and trustee. Those who knew Thom enjoyed his vibrant sense of humor, hearty laugh, and genuine zest for life. He was a proud father and grandfather and will be truly missed by many.

Thom was preceded in death by his parents and sister Geralynn. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Bridget, his daughter Ann (Dan) Reisetter of Maple Grove MN; his daughter Catherine (Michael) Vlahoulis of Whitefish Bay, WI; Thom’s grandchildren: Devon, Anika, and Ella Agarwal; Tyler, Amber, Mitchell, Brooke, and Erin Reisetter. Also survived by his sister Virginia Alice Nichols (Stanly), several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
