Thomas “Tom” Edward Guell
Thomas “Tom”
Edward Guell, 71, of
passed away December 12, 2013.
He was born
October 11, 1942 in
a son to Ralph and Margaret (Tonn) Guell.
On December
2, 1961 he married Carol Jean Manthey at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Tom graduated
from St. Mary’s
Over the
years, he worked as Store Manager for Tempo Store and Galloway West as a
Sweetened Condensed Milk Salesman.
Recently was a broker for his own business called Guell Dairy Brokerage
and a Sales Representative for PrePaid Legal.
He was a standing member of the Eagles Aerie #270 for 43 years and also
a member of the Knights of Columbus – 3rd Degree. Member of the Holy Family Catholic Parish
(St. Mary’s and
for 71 years.
Survivors
include his wife, Carol of 52 years; four children: Tamra Guell, Timothy (Sue)
Guell, Thomas R. (Barb) Guell, and Theresa M. (Rick) Claudel; 11 grandchildren:
Joshua (Gina) Guell, Rachelle (Justin) Wagner, and Samantha (John) Petri, Jacob
(Amanda) Guell, Jason Guell and Theresa A. Guell and Joseph (Jill) Guell, Steven (Shannon) Guell,
Roger Guell, Brian (Kara) Guell and Jessica Guell; seven great grandchildren;
eight step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; nine brothers and
sisters: James (Peggy) Guell, Joyann (Gary) Stewart, Suellen (Dale) Bakkela,
Richard (Lynda) Guell, Michael (Denise) Guell, Daniel (Kathy) Guell, Theodore
(Judy) Guell, Paula (Steve) Bruns, and Peter (Peggy) Guell; one family dog, 10
grand dogs, one step great grand dog, nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Tom is
preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dawn Marie Guell on November 4, 1970,
a son, DeWayne Arthur Guell on April 25, 2008, his father, Ralph Guell on
October 6, 1988, his mother, Margaret (Tonn) Guell on October 14, 1968, and his
step mother, Marion (Bottkol) Guell on June 18, 2010.
Visitation: Family will receive relatives and friends on
Monday, December 16, 2013 at Zacherl Funeral Home,
from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. There will also be visitation at the funeral home on
Tuesday, December 17, from 8:00 to 9:15 AM.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on
Tuesday, December 17, 2013, 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church,
