Thuerwachter, John E. “Jack”

Thuerwachter, John E. “Jack”

John left this world with his loving family by his side for his home in heaven on August 11, 2013, at the age of 82.

Jack was born on November 5, 1930 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was the son of Lester and Katherine Daniels Thuerwachter.

Jack was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community, St. Mary’s Church.  He attended St. Mary’s Grade School, Roosevelt Junior High and Fond du Lac Senior High where he played in the high school band.

In 1952, he was drafted into the Army with the 6th Armored Division at Fort Leonardwood in Missouri.

Jack spent about 15 years working at the family grocery store and then St. Agnes Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1985.

Jack is survived by one sister Mae (Robert) Strebe; one brother Samuel (Ruth Ann) Thuerwachter; two nieces, Mary (Dave) Razner and Lisa (Steve) Michels and two nephews, Samuel Jr (Carrie) Thuerwachter and Daniel (Heidi) Thuerwachter.  Jack is further survived by four great nieces: Jenna and Sarah Razner, Katie (Riley) O’Hearn and Sommer Huhn; and five great nephews: BradyMichels, Mitch and Nate Thuerwachter, Hunter Huhn and Rocky Thuerwachter; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one great nephew Robert Thuerwachter.

Jack liked to walk at the park in the summer and in the mall in the winter.  He was also an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia-a small part of which was used to decorate his room at St. Francis Home.

The family would like to thank all of the dedicated people at St. Francis and St. Agnes who took such loving care of him, especially Sr. Marianna, his special angel.
