Tom Kraft

Tom Kraft passed away at our Fond du lac home July 9, 2021; he found peace knowing that he was in a place he dearly loved.  Tom’s lifelong loving gesture of holding hands with his wife Marina continued until he took his final breath.

Tom was born November 20, 1950 in Port Washington Wisconsin to Raymond and Margaret Kraft.  A 1968 graduate of Goodrich High School and went on to earning a degree from UW Madison.  Tom and Marina have resided in Des Moines, Iowa for the last 40 years with eventual plans to return to Fond du lac to enjoy the family home on Lake Winnebago where many weekends were spent making it their own.  Although Tom moved to Iowa, he remained a lifelong Badger fan.

Adventure was an important part of life for Tom.  There was never a dull moment whether it was racing cars, boating, riding motorcycles or flying planes.  Lifelong friends were made with every adventure.

Diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) in 2019 brought on the final adventure.  A true man of integrity and selflessness Tom donated his brain and spinal cord for ALS research in hopes that he could help find a cure for this horrible disease.

Thank you to the SSM Hospice team that provided such wonderful care for Tom.  Your compassion, joy and laughter you brought into our home was endless and so appreciated.

Tom will be missed by his loving wife Marina and his sister Penny (Bob) Knopik.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be offered at www.zacherlfuneralhome.com
