Vilas E. Ebert

Vilas E. Ebert, 96, of the Town of Osceola passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born on October 16, 1924, the son of Otto and Ida (nee Kutz) Ebert.

On November 24, 1945, Vilas married Rosella I. Wagner at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Campbellsport. He farmed in the Town of Osceola, drove milk truck for a number of years and worked at Regalware in Kewaskum for 38 years. Vilas was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee and the 25 Year Club at Regalware. He enjoyed hunting, dancing, singing and was a very social person still flirting with the nurses at the Hospice Home. Most of all Vilas enjoyed time spent with family and friends sharing stories and pictures with the people he loved.


Those left behind to cherish his memory include his children Donna Schmidt, Norman (Mary) Ebert and Russel Ebert, grandchildren Eric (Tina) Ebert, Melissa (Chris) Kohnke, Bob Schmidt, Tammy Sodermark, Jason (Brooke) Ebert, Sherry Marchant, Travis Ebert, Christina (Ryan) Plummer, Stacey (Tom) Leach, Ashley Thoreson and Russel (Danielle) Ebert, Jr., 25 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends
Preceding Vilas in death were his parents, wife Rosella on August 25, 1981, son Richard, daughter-in-law Barbara, grandson Keith Schmidt and siblings Walter, Malinda, Hilda, Leona and Melvin.


Visitation will be Tuesday, June 22nd from 1:00 pm until time of the funeral service at 3:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee (W494 Elm St. Campbellsport). Pastor Bobby Oberg will officiate and burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.


The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Hospice Home of Hope for the loving care during Vilas’ final months.
