Viola Bernice Schill

Viola Bernice Schill, 103, of Campbellsport went to her heavenly home on Wednesday Aug. 6, 2014 at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport with her beloved family gathered with her. She was born on Oct. 9, 1910 in Malone, the daughter of the late Mathias and Martina (nee Koenen) Simon. Viola was a graduate of Oshkosh Normal and taught at the Jackson School in the Town of Ashford. On Oct. 24, 1933, Viola married Alois G. Schill at St. Martin’s Church in Ashford. Viola was a member of St. Martin’s Christian Women and their Sewing Circle and St. Matthew’s Church and Christian Women. 



Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children Mathias “Buddy” (Beaty) Schill, Sally Serwe, William (Bonnie) Schill all of Campbellsport, Janie (Gary) Willis and Jude (Chris) Griffith all of Aurora, CO, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Helen Simon Grosse, other relatives and friends. 

Viola was preceded in death by her husband Alois on Aug. 27, 2001, her son-in-law Norman Serwe, her brother Roman and her sister Stella. 



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday Aug. 11th at 11:00 AM at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Ashford. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will follow at St. Martin’s Cemetery, Ashford. 

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 11th from 9:30 AM until time of mass at the church.
