Virginia C. Wagener

Virginia C. Wagener, 86, of
Fond du Lac, died Saturday, February 4, 2017, at St. Francis Home.

 

She was born on February 24,
1931, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, a daughter of Harold H. and Frieda Kelm
Wagener.

 

Virginia was a graduate of
Beaver Dam High School.  She graduated
from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1953, and in 1973, she obtained her
Master’s Degree.

 

Virginia taught at Gregg
School, Roberts School, and Chegwin School for a combined total of 37 years.  She was a member of Covenant United Methodist
Church, Rachel Circle, Wisconsin Education Association, Fond du Lac Retired
Teachers, a lifetime member of the National Teachers Association, Delta Kappa
Gamma Society International, Saturday Lecture Club, and Loaves and Fishes.

 

She is survived by her
godchild, Patti (Jim) Schegetz, and their daughter, Teri (Luke) Salinas, all of
Horicon; cousins:  Sandra (Michael)
Hornyak Krecioch of Asheville, NC, Angeline Nowland of Oshkosh, Marverne
Paitrick of Fox Lake, Richard (Georgene) Wagener of Madison, and Rose Chadwick
of Sheboygan; and special friends and caregivers,  John and Diane Roetz of Fond du Lac.  She is further survived by many relatives and
close friends, too numerous to mention.

 

She was preceded in death by
her parents.

 

VISITATION:  The visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Covenant United Methodist Church, 20 North
Marr Street, Fond du Lac.

 

SERVICE:  The funeral service will be held at 11:00
a.m. on Thursday at Covenant United Methodist Church with Rev. Min Chea officiating.

 

Burial will follow in
Highland Memory Garden, Beaver Dam.
