Virginia E. Steffes

Virginia “Ginny”
Elizabeth Steffes, 78, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Monday, August 07, 2017
at the Hospice Home of Hope. She was born on October 7, 1938 in Fond du Lac, a
daughter of Edwin W. and Minnie E. Lettau Davies.


She married
Harvey Steffes on October 24, 1959 at St. Mary’s Church, Fond du Lac. She was a
member of Holy Family Parish.

Ginny was a
1957 graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School. She worked for many years at
Nazareth Heights as a nursing aide, as a crossing guard and she drove for Fond
du Lac County Medical Transport. She also volunteered for Agnesian Adult Day
Care and played volleyball until she was 78.


Survivors
include her husband, Harvey; three children, Todd (Linda) Steffes, Ty (Ann)
Steffes and Stacy (Scott) Luther; eight grandchildren, Derek Steffes, Shawn
(Lindsey Klima) Steffes, Cory (Taylor Anderson) Steffes, Liza (Chris) Kapisak,
Joe (Angie Lamb) Steffes, Pat (Lea) Steffes, Dallas (Erin) Luther and Jake
(Emily) Luther; seven great grandchildren, Avery, Quentin, Zoe, Charlotte,
Hank, Olivia and Sophia; one daughter-in-law, Amy (Mike) Koenig. Ginny is
further survived by three sisters, Marion Richardson, Gloria Bruley and
Jeanette Laabs; sisters-in-law, Shirley Davies, Jean Davies, Lois Davies and
Sandy Davies, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Preceded in
death were her parents; two sons, Joel and Jeff; infant sister Etheleen, one
brother who died at birth; eight brothers, Jackie, James, Donald, Edwin “Bud”,
Raymond “Corby”, Albert,  Farrell “Red”
and Dick; a half-brother, Robert; a half-sister, Doris; a brother-in-law, Harry
Laabs and a sister-in-law, Marie Davies.


Visitation:
Ginny’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 12, 2017
from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 East Division Street in
Fond du Lac.


Service: A
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at
12:00 PM at St. Peter Catholic Church, in the village of St. Peter. Cremation
will follow traditional services. Inurnment will be at a later date in the
Rienzi Cemetery.
