Virginia M. Korb
Virginia M. “Ginny” (Lisowe) Korb passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 89, on August 26, 2020. She was born on the first day of summer June 21, 1931 in the town of Brothertown to Arthur & Regina (Broeckel) Lisowe. She attended Holy Trinity school in Jericho.
She married Andrew L. Korb on August 17, 1957 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. They were well known in the community especially for operating the Hi-Way Bar in Brothertown for 33 years. Ginny was always there for her family, lived life to the fullest and had a good time while doing it. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, playing bingo, and being with friends for monthly breakfast club & birthday club dinner. She was an avid fan of polka. Ginny was a dedicated caller to the Jerry Schneider Show AM 1450 and for decades was known for her birthday shout outs. No matter where she went, she always ran into people that she knew. Her energy and friendship will be sadly missed by all who knew her or were lucky to be part of her family.
She is survived by her daughters: Beverly (Gregor) Fesing of Chilton, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Matznick of Mt. Calvary, Brenda (Jack) Patenaude of Stockbridge; son-in-law: Paul (Karla) Boehnlein of Fond du Lac; 13 grandchildren: Steve (Amy) Boehnlein of Neenah, Gary (Nicolette) Boehnlein of Stockbridge, Robert (Janet) Boehnlein of Brothertown, Chad (Elizabeth) Boehnlein of Baraboo, Dawn (Christopher) Ruchala of Appleton, Stacey (Jamie) Livermore of Weyauwega, Jamie (Jeff) Ewald of Sherwood, Jessica (Nathan) Allen of Livonia, MI, Jackie (Ryan) Scray of Hobart, Jacob (Julie) Matznick of Neosho, Gustin (Louisa) Patenaude of Fountain, CO, Alex (Nicole) Patenaude of Hilbert; 21 beautiful great grandchildren; brother: Melvin “Putz” (Verena) Lisowe of Brothertown; brother-in-law: Marvin (Donna) Korb of Fond du Lac; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann (Jim) Schaefer of Mt. Calvary, Judy Mathes of Chilton; and numerous nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Andrew Korb; daughter: Barbara Boehnlein; granddaughter: Casie Fesing; parents: Arthur & Regina Lisowe; brother: Herman Lisowe; father & mother-in-law: Gottfried & Estelle Korb; sisters-in-law: Geraldine Korb & Lorraine Lisowe; brother-in-law: Tony Mathes.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Jericho. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.
