Wallace O. Shaver
Wallace “Wally” O. Shaver, 73, of Taycheedah, died Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 20, 1943, in Fond du Lac, a son of Orvey R. and Florence V. Robbins Shaver. He was a graduate of Lowell P. Goodrich High School, Fond du Lac.
On December 28, 1966, he married Janet Ann Streeter, the daughter of Lester and Marguerite Streeter at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on September 28, 1998.
Wally served with the United States Army from 1966-1967. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, earning a degree in Bio-Chemistry. He worked for the Kohler Company, Mercury Marine, Universal Corp., and Alliance Laundry Co. as a chemist, metallurgist, quality control supervisor, and engineer. Wally traveled extensively throughout the United States, China, Japan, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
Wally was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. He loved being with his family, and cherished his three grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons: Thomas (Sara) Shaver of Portage and Brian Shaver of Fond du Lac; three grandchildren: Abigail, Jamie, and Joseph; a brother-in-law, Stan (Judy) Streeter of Fond du Lac; and special friend, Karen Kraus of Eldorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet; two sisters: Vivian (William) Klintworth and Belle (Densel) Johnson; a brother, Raymond (Pat) Shaver; his father and mother-in-law, Lester and Marguerite Streeter; and a brother-in-law, Roy Streeter.
VISITATION: The visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac.
SERVICE: The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tom Meyer officiating.
Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery with military rites performed by the American Legion Trier-Puddy Post 75.
