Wayne A. Povsha, III

Wayne A. Povsha III, age 38, of Chilton, died on March 20, 2022. He was born November 5, 1983, son of the late Wayne Povsha and Lisa Moodie. On August 29, 2012, he married Estrella “Vanessa” Ortiz.

Wayne asked Vanessa to marry him many times over six years, always being denied because she wanted his best effort in a romantic gesture. He finally decided to do it the right way. He recruited her best friend to help him pick out the perfect ring and arranged for flowers to be delivered to Vanessa at work just in time for him to kneel down and ask properly. Unfortunately, her friend told her about the plan and Vanessa was too excited to stay at work and wait for her surprise. She rushed home and he had to propose in their living room, but this time she said yes.

Wayne was a hard working man and loved his job as a machinist. Vanessa called him “MacGuyver” because he could fix anything. He was very smart, a deep thinker, and a great conversationalist. He was funny and sarcastic and liked watching documentaries. More than anything, he loved his children and cherished being a dad.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Vanessa; his children: Zachary Schulz, Zoey Povsha, and Easton Povsha; his niece: Elliana Hanson; Vanessa’s father: Mark Burns; and sisters-in-law: Amanda Burns and Kayla Burns.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents: Wayne Povsha and Lisa Moodie; his grandmother: Janet K. Odom; and Vanessa’s mother: Joan Ortiz.

The family will hold a memorial service at Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ (1717 Main Ave.) in Kaukauna in the near future. Please check back on our website for service details.
