Wilbur L. Drehmel

Wilbur “Will” L. Drehmel, 85, of Dotyville passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Susan Richardson Hospice Home, Sheboygan Falls. He was born on September 11, 1935 in Fond du Lac. Will was the son of Lawrence and Lucille (nee Schallock) Drehmel.  On June 18, 1955, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Ditter at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Dotyville.  Will worked as a Field Service Manager for the Gehl Company for 48 years before retiring. He was an excellent baseball player playing for Forest in the East Shore League and Long Lake in the Rock River League and also softball for Hahn’s and Wilbur Pfeiffer. He coached the Forest Girl’s Softball Team and St. Michael’s CYO Basketball Team. Will was a member of the Eagle’s Club and enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and camping.  Will was a great Chicago Cub fan and enjoyed their World Series victory in 2016.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years Betty, children Anita (Mark) Immel, Bruce (Colette) Drehmel, Cathy (Jerry) Kortesmaki, Gayle Drehmel (special friend Pete Schultz), Mike (Kim) Drehmel and Dianne (Neal) Schmidt, grandchildren Cory (Bobbie), Clarissa, Casey (Rick), Jess (Special friend Mike),  Kate (special friend Adam), Daniel Wilbur, Adrian (Tyler), Candice (Jason), Amanda (Flint), Sarah (Nick), Chris (Mercedes), Melissa (Chip) and Jeremy (Carla), 19 great grandchildren, brother James (Pauline) Drehmel, other relatives and friends,

Will was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Brandon.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 20th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac with a private family service to follow.
