Olsens Triangle Draws Compliments

Thousands of drivers pass the triangle at the intersection of Scott/Winnebago and Park in Fond du Lac every day taking a glance at the seasonal landscaping display. It’s known as “Olsen’s Crossing” so-dubbed by City Park crews for Olsen’s Service Station, which operated near the site from 1932 to 1989. About six years ago parks officials approached Stuart’s Landscaping and Garden Center. Clare Kahn of Stuart’s says the triangle was one of three sites the City gave them a choice of providing a landscaping display for. She says she chose that site and they started out with a simple display. The City fed electricity out to it and over the years the display became more elaborate. Stuart’s owner Stuart Muche says for them it was an opportunity to give back to the community. He says they started in 2009 or 2010 and each year the compliments they have received about it have continued to grow. The fall display even includes a tractor.
