Omro Man Arrested For 8th OWI

An Omro man was arrested Sunday following a traffic stop for his 8th OWI.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was notified Sunday (5/29/2022) just before 3:15 p.m. of a pickup truck all over the road, heading south on I-41 near the Hwy. 76 exit, just outside of Oshkosh.

A State Patrol Trooper was able to locate the vehicle, and attempted a traffic stop on the truck, near the Hwy. 45 exit ramp.

Officers on the scene observed indicators of impairment by the driver, 48-year old Daniel Wittrock of Omro, and administered a field sobriety test.

Officers concluded Wittrock was operating while under the influence of a substance or substances other than alcohol. Wittrock refused to cooperate with a drug evaluation at the scene, and was booked into the Winnebago County Jail for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence.
