One Dead, Three Injured in Dodge County Crash Wednesday Afternoon

A 50-year-old woman from Lake Mills was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Dodge County Wednesday afternoon.

Dodge County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene on State Highway 33 near North Grove Road in the Town of Oak Grove just before 1 PM for a report of a crash.

Investigators say a pickup traveling east on Highway 33 crossed the center line and hit a Buick sedan that was traveling west on the highway.

The Lake Mills woman was driving the Buick and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 12-year-old passenger in the car sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Madison for treatment.

The driver of the pickup, identified as a 47-year-old man from Horicon, sustained serious injuries and was transported by Flight for Life to Aurora Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc. A 44-year-old passenger in the pickup was taken to Beaver Dam Hospital with what authorities say are minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.

Highway 33 was closed for about four hours while crews worked at the scene. The highway re-opened to traffic just before 5 PM.
