One Man Arrested Following Another Chase In FDL County

It seems like Fond du Lac County has become a hotbed for vehicle pursuits. Fond du Lac County Sheriffs Deputies were involved with another pursuit Wednesday morning  at 4:15 a.m., when a deputy was making what appeared to be a routine stop for a defective headlight.

The incident started on CTH D, where a vehicle was traveling northbound in the town of Byron and failed to stop for the deputy, increased its speed and continued north. The deputy was able to acquire a license plate for the suspect vehicle and stopped pursuing the vehicle before it entered the City of Fond du Lac. After stopping for a brief period of time, the deputy continued on the last known path of travel and located the suspect walking on Pioneer Rd. near Military Rd. At the same time, a witness had called to report that he had witnessed the suspect crash the vehicle at that intersection, and saw the suspect leave the scene on foot.

The suspect, a 30-year old Fond du Lac man, was taken into custody without incident. He now faces charges of felony fleeing, speeding, operating after suspension, and at least 4 other charges. Assisting in the chase were the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
