One Person Suffers Serious Injuries in Dodge County Crash

One person sustained serious injuries in a crash in the
Dodge County Town of Hubbard Wednesday morning. The Dodge County Sheriff’s
Office responded to the scene on State Highway 33 at the intersection with
County Highway TW just after 11:30 AM. Investigators say a car was being driven
west on Highway 33 when it stopped to turn left on County Highway TW. A van was
also being driven west on Highway 33, when it hit the rear of the first car,
causing it to spin into the eastbound lane of traffic. Another car being driven
east on Highway 33 hit the first car, splitting it into two pieces.

The driver of the first car sustained minor injuries and
refused medical treatment, while the driver and passenger of the eastbound
vehicle sustained minor injuries and were taken to Beaver Dam Hospital for
treatment. The driver of the van sustained serious injuries and was taken to Columbus
Hospital. Two children in the van had minor injuries, and were also taken to
Columbus Hospital.

Traffic on both highways was detoured for just over two
hours. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
