One Person Suffers Serious Injuries In Hwy. 151 Accident

A car versus motorcycle accident late Thursday evening sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department was notified Thursday April 14, 2022 at 10:00 p.m. of a vehicle versus motorcycle crash on Hwy 151 at CTH AS in the Town of Waupun. Reports indicated that there were serious injuries that were potentially life threatening.

Upon arrival, deputies found the operator of the motorcycle to have serious injuries. He was taken via medical air transport to ThedaCare to receive further treatment. He was wearing a helmet and other protective riding equipment, which assisted in limiting his injuries. The man was identified as a 39 year old Horicon resident, and he was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under in the influence of an intoxicant.

The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was taken by ambulance to Waupun Hospital to be checked out for possible minor injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt. She was identified as a 49 year old female from Brandon.

The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene and is the lead investigating agency for the crash. Hwy 151 northbound was shut down for approximately 5 hours. Hwy 151 southbound was shut down for approximately 15 minutes while the air transport was on the ground.

Assisting on the scene were Waupun Fire, Lifestar Ambulance, North Fond du Lac Ambulance, Wisconsin State Patrol, Waupun Police Department, and the ThedaStar helicopter.

The crash continues to be under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
