Open House At FDL Fire Station Tonight

Fire
Station #1 on South Main Street
in Fond du Lac
will have an open house tonight as they celebrate Fire Prevention Week in the
city. Division Chief Troy Haase says they will have quite a few things for
people to see and do during the open house, which runs from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
There will be a live burn, some tech rescues, and Flight for Life
representatives will talk about how their departments work together. There will
be things for the kids too. Goodie bags and miniature fire helmets for the kids
will be part of the appeal and the department’s Mascot Sparky will also be on
hand. The police department will be bringing a K9 and Moraine Park
Technical College

will have a fire extinguisher simulator. Fire Prevention Week is done in
conjunction with the National Fire Prevention Association. The theme for the
week is “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!”
