Opening Weekend Deer Numbers Up

The preliminary numbers from the opening weekend of the Gun Deer Season in Wisconsin shows higher numbers this year, than the past two years. According to DNR reports, Fond du Lac County was up over 6 percent, with 1,203 deer registered. Green Lake County was up 17 percent, with Dodge County up almost 15 percent. The DNR says the early numbers are showing an increase statewide of over 2 percent. Just over 95,000 deer were taken over the weekend, compared to 93,155 in 2019. A total of 49,025 bucks were registered, up from 48,252 last year.
