Oshkosh Bridge To Remain Closed At Least For A Couple More Weeks

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says it will not reopen the Jackson and Oregon Street Bridge in Oshkosh before repairs are made on the structure.

A routine inspection back in May found that one of the gears that lift and lower the bridge leafs for passing boats was worn and could fail.

City officials had hoped that the D-O-T would lower the span now that the recreational boating season is done, allowing traffic to use the bridge during repair work.

Repair work has been delayed by supply chain issues for replacement parts.

Work looks to finally get back underway in two weeks. The bridge has been closed since the beginning of summer.
