Oshkosh House Fire

Winnebago County Sheriff’s officials say fire damaged a home at 4450 County Highway A in the Town of Oshkosh Sunday afternoon. When deputies arrived they helped get residents out of the house that was filling with smoke. Extinguishers were used to help knock down the fire, which was then put out by arriving firefighters. The blaze originated in the laundry room of the residence. No one was injured, but an 89-year-old woman living in the home was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. Three fire departments responded to the fire, which was reported at 2:37 p.m.
