Oshkosh Man Arrested For OWI, Had Child In Car

An Oshkosh man was arrested Tuesday (6/28/2022) following a traffic stop.

Victor Erazo Santos, 29 years of age, from Oshkosh, WI was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Fond du Lac Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16.

State Patrol personnel made an attempt to locate a vehicle that was
involved in a hit-and-run in their jurisdiction, with DOT cameras observing the vehicle all over the road.

A trooper with State Patrol – Fond du Lac Post initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on the off-ramp from I41 southbound to STH 76. The trooper observed signs of impairment from Santos, who was given a Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and was subsequently placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated – First Offense with an Occupant Under 16 Years Old.

Santos is also being charged with a Child Safety Restraint violation as well as Operating Without a License.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.
