Oshkosh Man Arrested On Multiple Charges Following Stand-off

The Oshkosh Police Department arrested a man for several felonies in the 500 Block of east County Road Y, in the City of Oshkosh Monday, September 26, 2022 .

At about 1:00 PM, Officers received information that the 39-year-old man from Oshkosh was a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Officers observed the man riding as a passenger in a vehicle on County Rd Y and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle immediately exited the car and made contact with officers. The passenger of the vehicle was uncooperative and refused to listen to officers directions and would not get
out of the car.

Because the officers were told the man may have weapons, the Oshkosh Police Department’s SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene.

Negotiators made contact with the man and talked with him for several hours, trying to deescalate the situation to a peaceful resolution.

During this time frame, the 500 Block of east County Rd Y was closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic while negotiations took place.

The man was ultimately taken into custody at about 4:30 PM. He was arrested for: Felon in Possession of Firearms, Possession of Methamphetamines, Felony Bail Jumping,
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Obstructing/ Resisting Arrest.

A search warrant was obtained to allow officers to search his residence for weapons which is located in the 900 Block of east Sunnyview Road. It is unknown at this time what was found in that search.
