Oshkosh Man Faces 5th OWI Following Pursuit In FDL County

A traffic stop for a speed violation turned into a high-speed pursuit Saturday (6/4/2022) in Fond du Lac County.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop Saturday around 11:45 p.m. on Hwy 23 at CTH W in the Town of Forest.

Initially, the vehicle pulled over and the Deputy was able to identify the operator, with the Deputy observing that the operator had been consuming intoxicating beverages.

After a short period of time, the suspect vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed, traveling south on Loehr Rd., east on Poplar Rd., and then south on Triple T Rd., a total of approximately 1.75 miles before coming to a stop, where the male operator was taken into custody.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 62 year old Oshkosh man. He received a citation for speeding and is being charged with 5th offense OWI and felony fleeing and eluding.

There were no injuries or property damage as a result of the pursuit.
