Oshkosh Police Are Letting Their Hair Down

Oshkosh Police are letting their hair down. But it is for a good cause. A patrol officer came up with the idea for a fundraiser for hurricane victims in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. In return for donations of at least $50 to the American Red Cross hurricane relief efforts officers are being allowed to grow beards or goatees, within reason. Female officers are being allowed to wear their hair past the collar of their uniforms. Officer Joe Nichols says even the employees in plain clothes are allowed to dress more casually on Thursdays and Fridays. About 40 Oshkosh Police employees are participating in the fundraiser raising at least $2,000 for hurricane relief efforts. But the longer hair and more casual dress end on November 30th.
