Owner Of Green Lake Marijuana Growing Operation Murdered In Illinois

Green Lake County Sheriff’s officials busted a marijuana growing operation on Kahl Road in the Town of Green Lake last week, but while looking for the owner found out he had been murdered in Illinois. A deputy was asked to deliver a message from the West Suburban Crimes Task Force of Illinois to the William Carlson residence on Sunday, July 12th. While there the deputy could smell raw marijuana and search warrant was obtained. Investigators found 7.5 pounds of pot and 25 live plants. While looking for the owner of the residence, 60-year-old William Carlson, they learned he had been the victim or a weapon-related homicide in River Forest, Illinois that same day. The sheriff’s office is working with River Forest, Illinois officials to seek if there is a connection between Carlson’s death and the grow operation in Green Lake.
