Packers Hang On to Beat Panthers, Win 11th Game of the Season

Green Bay 24, Carolina 16
–It was a tale of two halves at Lambeau Field Saturday night, and a big first half was enough to get the job done as the Packers held off the Panthers for their fourth straight win.
The Packers scored first, getting a one yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Robert Tonyan for a 7-0 lead with 9:54 left in the first quarter. The touchdown was Tonyan’s 10th on the season – and his fifth straight game with a touchdown reception. Carolina would add a Joey Slye field goal to make the score 7-3 after one quarter.
The second quarter belonged to the Green & Gold – with Rodgers and Aaron Jones each scoring on rushing touchdowns to give the Packers a 21-3 advantage at the break.
The second half belonged to the Panthers out-scoring the Packers 13-3, courtesy of a 13-yard touchdown run from Teddy Bridgewater and two Joey Slye field goals. A 51-yard field goal from Mason Crosby with 3:39 to play accounted for the Packers only points in the second half. The Panthers’ rally would fall short – as they turned it over on downs on their final drive, and the Packers ran out the clock.
