Packers Hang On to Beat Seahawks, Advance to NFC Championship

Green Bay 28, Seattle 23

–Aaron Rodgers threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns and the Packers held off the Seahawks at Lambeau Field to advance to the NFC Championship Game next weekend. Davante Adams caught eight passes for 160 yards and two scores, while Aaron Jones carried the ball 21 times for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns. 

The Packers built a 21-3 lead at halftime, and held a 28-10 advantage with just over seven minutes left in the third quarter. The Seahawks made it 28-17 with under a minute to play in the third on a touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Tyler Lockett, then made it a five-point game with 9:33 left on Marshawn Lynch’s second score of the game. After the Packers punted on their ensuing drive, Preston Smith sacked Wilson on a third down to force a Seattle punt. 

Needing two first downs to run out the clock, Aaron Rodgers made two big completions to Davante Adams and Jimmy Graham on the ensuing drive to seal the win.

Green Bay travels to San Francisco for the NFC Championship Game next Sunday. Kickoff is 5:40 PM central time.  

AFC Divisional Playoff: 

Kansas City 51, Houston 31

–The Texans built a 24-0 lead early, but were outscored 51-7 the rest of the way by the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes threw for 321 yards and five touchdowns in the win for Kansas City. The Chiefs will host the Tennessee Titans in next Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.
