Packers Retain Pettine as Defensive Coordinator

New Packers head coach Matt LaFleur will be keeping Mike Pettine
as the team’s defensive coordinator. The team made that announcement Friday. Pettine
lead the number 12-ranked pass defense in the league last season, an
improvement from number 23 in the category in 2017. The Packers defensive unit
also ranked number seven in the NFL in sacks per pass attempt, with 16
different players recording at least half a sack, the second most in team
history. Pettine previously was defensive coordinator for the New York Jets and
Buffalo Bills and spent two years as the head coach in Cleveland.
