Packers Wrap Up NFL Draft With Six Picks on Day 3

The NFL Draft is in the books, and the Packers evenly split their final six picks of the weekend between offense and defense on day three. Green Bay’s Saturday picks included: 

Rd. 4 (#142 overall): Royce Newman – OL – Mississippi 

Rd. 5 (#173 overall): Tedarrell Slaton – DT – Florida

Rd. 5 (#178 overall): Shemar Jean-Charles – CB – Appalachian State

Rd. 6 (#214 overall): Cole Van Lanen – OL – Wisconsin

–Van Lanen is a Bay Port High School grad, and is drafted by his hometown team

Rd. 6 (#220 overall): Isaiah McDuffie – LB – Boston College

Rd. 7 (#256 overall): Kylin Hill – RB – Mississippi State

Cole Van Lanen was among three former Wisconsin Badgers who heard their names called on Saturday. Pittsburgh picked defensive end Isaiahh Loudermilk in the fifth round, while defensive back Rachad Wildgoose went to Buffalo in the sixth round. 

Four additional Wisconsin players have been signed as undrafted free agents. Offensive lineman Jack Dietzen will join his former teammate Cole Van Lanen in Green Bay, fullback Mason Stokke signed with Carolina, running back Garrett Groshek is headed to Las Vegas, and safety Eric Burrell will sign with New Orleans.
