Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle in Fond du Lac

Fond du Lac Police have released the name of the person
killed after being hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning in the City of Fond du
Lac. 54-year-old Jeffrey J. Koenigs of Fond du Lac was pronounced dead at the
scene after being hit by a pickup at the intersection of south Park Avenue and
Second Street around 1:38 am Saturday. A 51-year-old Fond du Lac man is
currently being held in the County Jail on preliminary charges of Homicide by
Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle. 

 

A 54-year-old man from Fond du Lac was killed when he was
hit by a vehicle at the intersection of south Park Avenue and east Second
Street early this (Saturday) morning. According to Fond du Lac Police, the man
was walking east on Second Street and was in a crosswalk crossing Park Avenue
when he was hit by a pickup being driven south by a 51-year-old man from Fond
du Lac. The 54-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the
pickup was not injured and was arrested for homicide by intoxicated use of a
vehicle and for operating without a valid driver’s license. The name of the
victim is not being released until family can be notified. The crash was first
reported at 1:38 am.
