Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle On Winnebago Drive

Driving while intoxicated appears to be the cause of a collision Saturday evening involving a pededstrian.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department was notified Saturday (2/12/2022) around 8:45 pm of vehicle striking a pedestrian at Winnebago Dr. and Prairie Rd. in the Town of Fond du Lac.

The initial investigation indicates that the driver of the striking vehicle, a 38-year old male from Milwaukee, was traveling west on Winnebago Dr.  The pedestrian, a 26 year old male from Waupun, was walking on Winnebago Dr. The point of collision occurred on Winnebago Dr. directly west of Prairie Rd.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, causing injury. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to St. Agnes hospital with significant injury.   

Assisting at the scene were Troopers with Wisconsin State Patrol, City of Fond du Lac Ambulance, along with the Town of Fond du Lac Fire Department and First Responders.
