Petri Hits College Lecture Tour As He Begins Retirement

Former Wisconsin Congressman Tom Petri says he will remain active this winter as he begins retirement after 35 years in Congress. Plans include doing a college lecture tour with former Congressman Dave Obey and attending a conference in Florida later this month. He says the thing he treasures most about his time in the House of Representatives was getting to know and work with people of the 6th Congressional District. He worked under six different presidents and if he had to choose one he liked best would give the edge to President Ronald Reagan. As for his successor Glenn Grothman, Petri says he wouldn’t presume to give him advice as he learns the ropes. Petri’s last day in office was this past Wednesday.
