Plane Lands And Catches Fire In Town Of Winneconne

Winnebago County Sheriff’s officials say two people were able
to escape from a plane after it landed on a private airstrip in the Town of
Winneconne Saturday afternoon and caught fire. Deputies responded to the
private airstrip at 5691 Courtnery Plummer Road for a fire call. A 1975 Piper
Pathfinder P28 single engine plane landed on the airstrip after encourtering
engine trouble. The 62-year-old Aurora, Illiniois man piloting the plane and a
50-year-old woman were able to exit the plane without injuries before the engine
caught on fire due to a mechanical issue. The Town of Winneconne/Poygan Fire
